How Can We Help?

There are three ways to start a game:

• Start New Game: Create custom teams and add your own words
• Quick Start: Jump in instantly with auto-generated teams and words
• Resume Game: Continue a previously saved game

For beginners, we recommend using Quick Start to get familiar with the gameplay!

F!shbowl works best with 4 or more players. You can create 2-8 teams, with each team having at least 2 players. The ideal setup is:

• 4-6 players: 2 teams with 2-3 players each
• 6-12 players: 3-4 teams with 2-3 players each
• 12+ players: 4-8 teams with multiple players per team

F!shbowl is perfect for ages 8 and up! The game adapts well to different age groups:

• Kids (8-12): Use simple, familiar words they know
• Teens & Adults: Mix in pop culture, inside jokes, and challenging words
• Mixed Ages: Choose words everyone will recognize

For the most fun experience:

• Mix skill levels: Put strong and newer players together
• Separate close friends: They might have too many inside references
• Consider personalities: Balance outgoing and shy players
• Equal team sizes: Keep teams roughly the same size

Pro tip: Use the Quick Start feature to auto-generate balanced teams!

Once you've started adding words, team composition is locked for that game. However, you can:

• Start a new game with different teams
• Use "Play Again with Same Teams" to keep current teams for another round
• Players can switch teams between games (not during gameplay)

Great team names are:

• Short and memorable: Easy to say and remember
• Fun and creative: "Word Wizards", "Team Awesome", "The Guessers"
• Relevant to your group: Inside jokes or shared interests
• Positive: Keep it family-friendly and inclusive

Scoring is simple:

• 1 point per correct guess during your team's turn
• 30 seconds per turn to guess as many words as possible
• Same words used in all phases - they get funnier as the game progresses!
• Team with highest total score wins after all three phases

Strategy tip: In later phases, remember words from earlier rounds!

The best words are:

• Familiar to your group: Everyone should recognize it
• Not too easy or hard: Challenging but guessuable
• Actable: Consider how it will work in charades phase
• Specific enough: "Dog" vs "Golden Retriever"

Great examples: "Pizza", "Harry Potter", "Bicycle", "Swimming", "Dentist"

Try these solutions in order:

1. Force close and restart the app
2. Restart your device
3. Update the app to the latest version
4. Free up storage space (at least 100MB recommended)
5. Reinstall the app (note: this will delete saved games)

Game data is stored locally on your device. Games may be lost if:

• App was updated or reinstalled
• Device storage was cleared
• Device was reset

Prevention tip: Finish games in one session when possible, or use Quick Start for shorter games.

Check these settings:

• Device volume: Make sure media volume is up
• Do Not Disturb: Disable silent/do not disturb mode
• App permissions: Allow audio permissions in device settings
• Background apps: Close other apps that might interfere

F!shbowl supports multiple languages:

• Check app settings: Go to Settings > Language
• Device language: App may follow your device's language setting
• Supported languages: English, Spanish, German, Hungarian
• Restart required: Language changes may need app restart
